About Me

I am a 5th year Ph.D Candidate studying in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Lab at the University of Notre Dame advised by Dr. Ronald Metoyer.

My research involves HCI and Human-AI Collaboration and examines how to integrate domain expertise into Large Language Model (LLM) evaluation for complex, high-stakes tasks. My goal is to develop methods to incorporate domain experts into the LLM evaluation process, specifically determining when and how to efficiently integrate their expertise while also addressing scalability challenges. I am focused on creating evaluation frameworks that leverage the strengths of different stakeholders, such as domain experts, end users, as well as LLMs themselves, to ensure that LLM outputs align with real-world needs and maintain trust and accountability. To date, I have examined the input of human expertise in complex domains such as nutrition, mental health, and pedagogy.

I have also been heavily involved in the Food Information Networks (FINs) project which leverages technology to support healthy food access in food desert communities. I have led the design and development of an app that uses optimization techniques to suggest healthy and affordable food products. Through this project, I have also investigated the use of LLMs for personalized nutrition information to better promote food literacy.

Before pursuing a Ph.D., I worked in industry at The Vanguard Group for five years, where I served as an analyst in a multifunctional Client Experience (CX) lab. It was through this work that I learned the importance of data mixed with human behavior research to drive the design of new technologies. During this time, I also gained a master’s degree from Saint Joseph’s University in Business Intelligence and Analytics.

Outside of research, I enjoy attending Pure Barre workout classes (I’ve completed over 750 and am working toward 1,000!), playing and studying chess, and learning new languages on Duolingo — currently Japanese and Polish (my heritage). I enjoy watching football and I especially love rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles!
